CCS Behavior Policy

Chattanooga Christian Singles "CCS" is a multi-denominational program open to membership from Singles in the Greater Chattanooga Area of many faith backgrounds. As such, we stress respect amongst members for each individuals personal beliefs and healthy behavior when interacting.

First-Centenary Singles Behavior Policy

First-Centenary Singles is a multi-denominational Christ-centered ministry. Many adults attend First-Centenary Singles to have a place to participate with other single adults in group situations without any desire for dating. The assumption should not be made that an individual attends First-Centenary Singles to seek a dating relationship. Individuals establishing new friendships should do so with caution and appropriate restraint. In the event that a member of FCS experiences offensive conduct, harassment, or violence from another member of the group, it is requested that the procedures listed below be followed and the alleged incident(s) be reported immediately.

Policy Against Offensive Conduct, Harassment, and Violence

GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY

It is the policy of First-Centenary Singles to maintain an environment that is free from offensive conduct, harassment, and violence. It shall be a violation of this policy for any member of FCS to engage in offensive or harassing verbal or physical conduct which may or may not be of a sexual nature. It shall be a violation of this policy for any member of FCS to inflict intimidation, harassment, violence, or sexual violence.

The director of the Singles Ministry will act to investigate all complaints, either formal or informal, verbal or written, of offensive, harassing, or violent conduct and will discipline or take appropriate action against any member who is found to have violated this policy.

SEXUAL OFFENSIVE CONDUCT DEFINED

Sexual based offensive conduct/harassment includes unwelcome verbal or physical conduct that may be communicated in person, in writing, by telephone, or e-mail. The unwelcome verbal remarks may be in the form of jokes or innuendoes of a sexual nature. Also included would be inappropriate patting, touching, and unwanted demands for dates or other social contact. Distribution or display of written materials, pictures, or other graphics of a sexual nature is considered offensive sexual conduct. Sexual harassment and offensive conduct is not limited to the examples stated in this paragraph.

REPORTING/INVESTIGATION/ACTION

Any person who believes he/she has been the victim of offensive conduct or harassment by a member of FCS should report the alleged misconduct immediately to the Director of Singles Ministry or the Clergy Liaison. The Director of Singles Ministry may request, but may not insist upon, a written complaint by the complainant. The Singles Ministry will process complaints as discreetly as possible, consistent with the Church’s legal obligations and the necessity to investigate allegations of offensive conduct and take disciplinary action when the conduct has occurred. The disciplinary action may be in the form of a warning, suspension and/or termination of membership from First-Centenary Singles, or other appropriate action to end/prevent its recurrence.
